Prof. Estrada holds a B.A. in Economics from the National University of La Plata (Buenos Aires, Argentina), and both a M.S. in Finance and a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (USA). His areas of specialization are portfolio management, wealth management, investments, securities markets, emerging markets, corporate finance, and economic analysis of law. He has done extensive research on the topic of risk, with special focus on downside risk and the cost of capital. He has also done extensive research on investment strategies, Internet stocks, and insider trading.
Prof. Estrada held positions at both the economics department and the business department of the Carlos III University (Madrid, Spain). He is also a regular visiting professor at the Torcuato Di Tella University (Buenos Aires, Argentina), has visited both the Copenhagen Business School (Copenhagen, Denmark) and the Swedish School of Economics and Business Administration (Helsinki, Finland), and has lectured to undergraduates, graduates, and executives around the world.
Prof. Estrada is a wealth management advisor at Sports Global Consulting. His articles have appeared in numerous publications such as the Journal of Asset Management, the Journal of Investing, the Journal of Applied Corporate Finance, the Quarterly Review of Economics and Finance, and the European Journal of Finance, among others.
