Gijs van Wulfen is wereldwijd een autoriteit op het gebied van innovatie. Hij is de grondlegger van de FORTH innovation method, een beproefde innovatiemethode die op zes continenten wordt toegepast. Zijn boek Het Innovatiedoolhof is bekroond als Managementboek van het Jaar 2017. Als LinkedIn Influencer reist hij de hele wereld over om mensen te inspireren als workshopleider of als keynote spreker op conferenties of bijeenkomsten. Gijs zn lezingen zijn praktisch, informeel, vol humor en entertainment.
Als bedrijfseconoom, werkte Gijs eerst vijftien jaar als marketeer in de food-industrie en adviseerde hij later bij Ernst & Young en Boer & Croon. Eind 2002 startte hij zijn missie om mensen, overal ter wereld, te inspireren om betere innovators te worden. In 2006 kwam zijn boek Nieuwe Producten en Diensten Bedenken uit, de eerste van inmiddels vier boeken over hoe je innovatie het beste kunt starten. Gijs is keynote speaker bij grote internationale evenementen. Zo was hij keynote spreker bij de Turkish Innovation Week in Istanbul en bij Product Innovation Berlin. En faciliteert hij innovatieworkshops voor 3M in de Verenigde Staten, DuPont in Engeland en AIRBUS in Frankrijk. Even leuk vindt hij het om vijftien klanten van Rabobank Stadskanaal te inspireren op een dinsdagavond.
Een lezing van Gijs gaat vooral over ons eigen gedrag, dat vaak de oorzaak is waarom innovatie zo slecht van de grond komt. Gepokt en gemazeld door de praktijk weet hij iedereen te boeien met zijn innovatieverhalen. Want een goede lezing inspireert niet allen, maar zorgt vooral ook voor een glimlach. ''3M recently had the privilege of hiring Gijs van Wulfen to present a 90 minute lecture on the topic of 'how to start innovation'. Gijs was an informed and engaging speaker. His story telling style built an immediate friendly relationship with the audience. His knowledge and experience on the subject of starting large new projects inside a corporate structure was evident. At times he referenced his book The Innovation Expedition but at no time during the talk did it feel like we were getting a pushy sales pitch for a product (his book) or his service (training in the FORTH methodology). ''The FAST, program is part of the Airbus Group University talent development portfolio, and is designed as a practical foundation for experienced Talented managers who are responsible for a business unit or profit centre. The FAST program gives participants the opportunity to focus on the development of business, management and business competences in line with the Airbus Group leadership model. This program is made up of 3 'one week' modules challenging the participants on their leadership skills and competences, as well as strengthening key business management skills coupled with exposure to external trends. Module 2 focuses more particularly on business agility and is done in smaller groups to allow peer to peer feedback and networking. In the frame of this module 2, we have had the pleasure to welcome Gijs van Wulfen for a one day workshop, on april 20th, may 6th and may 18th in our executive education center near Bordeaux in France. During these workshops (approximately 33 paricipants), Gijs has explained his view on innovation an how it can be used in the business environment.
