À propos Günter Stahl

Günter K. Stahl is Associate Professor of Organizational Behavior at INSEAD. His research focuses on the link between strategy and human capital management, the dynamics of trust within and between organizations, and sociocultural processes in teams, alliances, mergers and acquisitions. He has published in leading academic journals and is the recipient of several prestigious research awards, including the Carolyn Dexter Award of the Academy of Management and the Academy of Intercultural Studies and Daimler Chrysler Award for Excellence in International Management Research. His book “Mergers and Acquisitions: Managing Culture and Human Resources” (Stanford University Press, 2005) – a unique collaboration between leading M&A scholars, HR managers and M&A-experienced senior executives – has been praised as “the most insightful and practical account yet of how one can get a grip on the ‘softer’ social, psychological and cultural aspects that are at the heart of successful integration.”

He is also co-editor of “Developing Global Business Leaders: Policies, Processes, and Innovations” (Greenwich Publishing, 2001), co-editor of “Readings and Cases in International Human Resource Mana¬gement” (Routledge, 2007, 4th ed.), and principal investi¬gator for the Asia-Pacific region of the Global Human Resource Research Alliance, a large-scale research project on global best practices in talent management.

Prior to joining INSEAD, Günter was a member of the faculty at the University of Bay¬reuth, Germany, and a visiting professor at the Fuqua School of Business, Duke University, and the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, USA. He has taught MBA, Executive MBA, and Executive Develop¬ment Program participants on a variety of topics, including leader¬ship, strategy implementation, talent manage¬ment, business ethics, and cross-cultural management.

Günter serves on the advisory boards of several for-profit- and non-profit organizations, including Catalyst, the leading research and advisory organization working globally with companies to build inclusive environments and expand opportunities for women in business. He has consulted or been involved in executive teaching for a range of industrial and professional services companies, including Audi, AstraZeneca, Bank Mandiri, Bayer Healthcare, Beiersdorf, BMW, DaimlerChrysler, GlaxoSmithKline, Henkel, Nissan, IBM, KPMG, Lufthansa, Mobilink, Siemens, Standard Chartered Bank and UGS.
