Born in 1958, Etienne Klein is a physicist, research director at CEA, and a doctor in philosophy of science. He leads the CEA Laboratory for Research on Matter Sciences (LARSIM).<\/p>\n
He has participated in various major projects, particularly the development of the laser isotope separation process and the study of a superconducting cavity accelerator. At CERN, he contributed to the design of the European Large Hadron Collider, the LHC, which led to the discovery of the Higgs boson (in July 2012).<\/p>\n
He is a professor of physics and philosophy of science at the Ecole Centrale de Paris.<\/p>\n
A recipient of numerous awards, he is a member of the Academy of Technologies.<\/p>\n
He hosts a weekly segment every Thursday morning (at 7:17 AM) on France-Culture, titled “The World According to Etienne Klein.” <\/p>\n
