Former elite athlete Suyin Aerts is an entrepreneur with an independent career as a multilingual presenter and journalist for television and event host.
After a career as a professional ballet dancer, work as an actress and presenter for Belgian television, and several years in the fashion industry, Suyin Aerts decided to pursue her unconventional path by joining the communication and marketing company founded by her partner.
Today, she combines her professional life as a business leader with an independent career as a multilingual presenter and journalist for television (Kanaal Z / Canal Z) and as a moderator and speaker at events.
In 2012, Suyin Aerts received the Talent Award from Women in Marketing and Communication in the Netherlands as an entrepreneur. In 2016, she won the Networker of the Year award in Belgium. In 2019, she will receive the International Wintrade Award for Women in The Media (sponsored by Microsoft) in London.
With a master’s degree in industrial business politics, several diplomas in marketing, and a degree in international business from the International Chamber of Commerce, Suyin remains determined to continue expanding her vision and knowledge, to further develop herself, and to stay creative and innovative in her entrepreneurship. In 2020, she will also complete the Take The Lead, Digital Disruption training at Vlerick Business School.
In spring 2022, she published her first book with Lannoo Campus, “Time for the Creative Generalist,” in Dutch. In her book, she advocates for rebel entrepreneurship.
As a moderator, presenter, and interviewer, Suyin Aerts can be utilized for many types of events and various topics. Human resources, marketing, digital transformation, communication, political debates, and much more. Suyin has extensive experience in moderating and organizing events, both on stage and virtually.
Her experience in television is, of course, a significant advantage in camera experience. The people she has interviewed are always wildly enthusiastic about her strong, original, authentic approach and the thorough preparation of her questions.
As a speaker, Suyin can stick to topics related to her book on “Time for the Creative Generalist” or create something tailored as an experienced speaker, writer, entrepreneur, and former elite athlete. Suyin is often asked to speak about the importance of networking. She willingly and easily adapts to the topics requested by clients and adds her own flavor and style, inspiring, energetic, a bit rebellious with humor and femininity.
Suyin describes herself as an Olympic entrepreneur because she sees a significant correlation as a former elite athlete between sports and entrepreneurship. Her unfair advantage is that she is a very good interviewer, host, and moderator because she is a business leader knowledgeable in many markets and has extensive experience on stage and in front of the camera. She also does this perfectly in three languages, and in addition to Dutch, French, and English, she also speaks a bit of Spanish, German, and understands Italian.
