About Susanne Baars
Susanne Baars is a next-generation exponential thinker who strives for a more fair and sustainable future by providing access to genomic data. She founded the Human Genome Foundation and started the global initiative Free My Genome. Her mission: to free up the genomic data and give it back to the people.
Susanne is born in a medical family specialized in genetics. She was intrigued by the sentence: “If we only would have known, we could have prevented this disease. Previously she has been a stem cell researcher at Harvard University, public Health researcher at the global health unit and ethics department of the WHO (Geneva) and Peking University. Knowing that there is more knowledge and technology to save lives makes her highly determinate to change the status quo.
