When Erik Kuperus and Michel Verheijden started making comedy together 15 years ago, they did not foresee that they would become one of the most popular acts on congresses and other business events in the Netherlands. In fact, they hardly ever look further than a day, but hey, what else do you expect from improvisation artists? The most important part of a MiER show is always talking with the people in the audience about whatever the congress or event is about and MiER improvises a comedy scene or a short musical in which those conversations come back. In other words, the audience gets an important role in the show (without being dragged on stage). When acting as conference hosts their approach is more or less similar to making comedy: it is all about interaction. With the speakers on stage and at the same time with the people in the audience, live or via Social Media like Twitter, interaction makes people stay focussed on what is important: the message you want to get across to your audience. So you won’t be surprised to hear that MiER specializes in leading discussions, talk shows, brainstorms and award ceremonies. And don’t expect them to be funny all the time: being a comedian is all about knowing when to be funny, but being a conference host is all about knowing when NOT to be funny. Combining conference with comedy, MiER is an excellent choice for meetings where you need to share a lot of information with your audience whilst keeping them happy and energized throughout the day.
