Jolanda Linschooten was the first Dutch woman to cross the Greenland Icecap on skis in 2007. In 2006 she hiked solo during 40 days through the wilderness of Iceland. Jolanda Linschooten was the first Dutch woman to cross the Greenland Icecap on skis in 2007. In 2006 she hiked solo during 40 days through the wilderness of Iceland. What inspires her to make such travels is to immerse time after time in wild nature, where mankind has not yet put his stamp. In these places, supposed to be empty, there’s a lot to be found, because right there you’ll find out that you don’t need much to be really rich. Jolanda Linschooten registers her experiences in a unique way in words and images en doesn’t only share her most beautiful moments, but also especially what lessons she learned in the outdoors – totally thrown back upon herself, how she copes with hard times and how she gets the motivation to push on at these particular moments. Jolanda Linschooten (1966) organizes her travels herself all the way, because she considers solid knowledge, long-term experience and thorough preparations as the key to success. In 2000 she exchanged her regular job in Special Education to start her business OutdoorFoto. Since she travels in assignment or she undertakes expeditions. Her most remarkable travels and expeditions:

  • 1500 km on foot, mountain bike and by canoe from north to south through Alaska, 1997
  • 400 km canoeing on the Canadian South Nahanni River, 2003
  • Crossing of Spits Bergen on foot, 2004
  • 675 km right across Iceland, solo 2006
  • 600 km on ski’s across the Greenland Icecap, 2007
