Conducting a classical orchestra must rate as one of the toughest management jobs out there. Not only is a conductor a manager while being at the same time: an artist, an annalist and a performer. A conductor is a leader whom must successfully convey his vision and interpretation to the orchestra in front of her (or him). There must be total quality control, and the only person that can deliver this is the conductor. Inma Shara has broken the glass ceiling in this very demanding profession.

Inma Shara works extensively in her native Basque country, working closely with its government in the area of culture. She did this together with Zubin Mehta. Perhaps lesser known to the public but very exciting is Inma Shara’s involvement and passion for film music, working with great names like Jonathan Séeller from Harvard University and Anton Coppola. John Williams has proven how exciting and yet also classically authentic strong film music can be. That Inma works in this dynamic field says something about her fiery interpretation.
