Futurist, entrepreneur and author Erwin Van Lun MBM MSc. shows you the way to your future. His 2005 book on the future of 2015 contained hundreds of ideas to anticipate trends. Successful organizations used his ideas, and benefit today. Although his future vision has expanded towards 2050 (and beyond), his 2015 vision still makes thousands of business leaders think.

Van Lun knows where it’s all going. His amazing future vision is based on knowledge of advances in technology combined with insights in sociology, psychology, biology, history and even religion. His enthusiastic talks are pack-jammed with outside the box thinking, useful ideas to anticipate the future and tangible best practices from businesses today. Which ideas are truly relevant for me? Which actions should be taken today? And, just as important, what activities should be left out? Change is not only about new ideas, it’s also about letting go of old practices as well. Think about it!

Van Lun is a recognized authority in his field. His book ‘Van Massamerk naar Mensmerk’ (From Mass brands to Coaching Brands), predicting the future of media, marketing and brands in the next decade, was nominated for the Dutch Marketing Literature Awards. His futurist website was nominated for the Dutch Website Awards in ‘best business’, ‘best marketing’ and ‘best design’. He is renowned for his open-mindedness, creativity and focus on results. Everything he does, his books and websites, simply demonstrate the way he thinks.

Erwin has a background in artificial intelligence, brand management and community management. In 1993 he received his first Masters degree from the Delft University of Technology with research on artificial neural networks. After he graduated he worked ten years for IT company CMG and specialized in combining IT with the field of marketing, branding and communication. After he left the company he finished his second Master degree on Brand Management at the Erasmus University in Rotterdam. He was the first to graduate cum laude in this area. His thesis was the basis for his book.

Van Lun is the founder and CEO of Chatbots.org, a worldwide community of people working on artificial conversational humans. One of the key trends he found in his research is the humanization of communication, with humanoid robots, almost indistinguishable from their human counterparts, as ultimate form. Chatbots are becoming highly relevant instruments in the social media space today. Erwin can talk about it for hours, if you allow him to.

He served as the Web strategy manager of GSF, the Global Speakers Federation in 2010, a voluntary job. This website showed that the concept of ‘social media’ is not about media, but about social psychology, an everlasting future-proof concept. He also demonstrated how these insights will help existing organizations move forward.

Erwin has a mission: to help organizations to be valuable in people’s lives. Erwin is convinced that future marketeers strive to help humanity forward (instead of adding value to the shareholders), are community thinkers and have a passion for people instead of money.
