He studied medicine at the University of Malta, was a Rhodes Scholar at Oxford, holds an M.A. in psychology and physiology from Oxford. The New University of Advancing Technology in Phoenix, Arizona appointed Dr. de Bono Da Vinci Professor of Thinking in May 2005. For many years now, Dr. de Bono acts as adviser to various companies, governments, cities, regional governments and global organisations. He teaches how creative thinking leads to change. Edward de Bono is regarded by many as the leading authority in the field of creative and lateral thinking, innovation and the direct teaching of thinking as a skill. He is equally renowned for his development of the Six Thinking Hats® technique and the Direct Attention Thinking Tools™ famework. These techniques are used to come up with new ideas. Edward de Bono could become a guru by continuously developing one single idea. He has written 30 books based on lateral thinking. His most important book is 'The Use of Lateral Thinking'. In a world that is becoming increasingly complex, Dr de Bono speaks of powerful creative thinking and the need for simplicity.
